If you are wondering if it’s possible to make an Aperol Spritz more even more fun and delicious, I am here to tell you yes! A Frozen Aperol Spritz is a real treat. One I like to save for those dog days of summer when it’s too hot to do anything besides find a body of water and sit it in with an icy beverage.
To make this frozen spritz, you only need a few things: a good blender, ice cube molds and the ingredients! No frozen drink machine needed. Now that I know how easy it is to make frozen drinks, nothing is stopping me from doing this all summer!
Frozen Aperol Spritz
I know y’all are going to love this drink as much as me! If you’ve never tried Aperol before, now that on its own it can be a slightly bitter. But when you combine it with Prosecco and orange, it becomes really well balanced and refreshing without being sweet which makes for perfect summer sippin’.
For my spritz, I prefer a dry Italian Prosecco. Avoid overly sweet proseccos. If you’re not sure what to look for when purchasing, just ask the wine merchant. They are always super helpful. Tell them that you’re making an Aperol Spritz and I am sure they will point in exactly the right direction.
To make this frozen drink come together, be sure to allow time to freeze everything into cubes. I suggest a minimum of four hours but overnight is best! So be sure to plan ahead if you can. The Aperol might not freeze completely solid but you should be able to get it pretty close. The colder and more frozen the ingredients, the better the drink will come out!
