This Better Than Takeout Broccoli Beef recipe is a quick, easy and super delicious meal you can make in no time! Simple ingredients and a family favorite!
This is a BMW meal through and through! He loves Broccoli Beef but honestly we never really order take out or go to any restaurants that have this dish on the menu. So I decided to figure out how to make this at home! I wanted a quick recipe, like less than 30 minutes, that had all those nostalgic, Chinese takeout Broccoli Beef flavors but with a clean ingredient list. This is what I came up with and gotta say, we’ve had this one several times over the past few weeks! It’s BMW approved and has broccoli in it, so we both win!

Take Out Style Broccoli Beef
Every now and then BMW and I love to reminisce about the foods we loved to eat as teenagers. For me, it was a healthy diet of cheeseburgers and anything with Oreos. BMW loved jelly beans (still does) and Chinese takeout, specifically Broccoli Beef! So we got to talking and I was like I bet I can make a cleaned up Broccoli Beef for us. Thus the experimenting began and this recipe was born.
This is honestly such a quick and easy recipe. You whisk together a sauce, sear the meat, cook the vegetables and serve with rice. So easy but yet so delicious. You can turn the heat up or down by adding more sambal oelek (chili paste) and we kept this traditional with just broccoli but any cruciferous vegetable would work. I’ve added in snap peas and cauliflower before too! Just use whatever you have on hand.
Quick and Delicious Dinner Recipe
I love to cook! So much so that some days I spend all day doing it. However, some days get away from me and like anyone else I get busy and then all the sudden find myself starving and wanting to eat right away. That’s where this recipe comes in so handy. It’s so quick to make. Literally less than 30 minutes. You can use fresh or frozen broccoli. You can sub in flank steak for sirloin but I like the tenderness of the sirloin. I typically use grass-fed beef for not only the nutrition but also the taste.
