So excited to share all the details about our Guest Room and Playroom Combo! It’s the perfect way to make the most of our spare bedroom!
I am so excited to share all the details of this space with y’all! We’ve been waiting for this room to come together for what seems like forever! This 3rd bedroom in our home is a pretty good size and pre-bébé it was being used as BMW’s office space. Bébé’s current nursery was our guest room previously. Now that our backhouse is under way, BMW will move his office up there in the living space and the bedroom upstairs will be a dedicated guest room. That means our 3rd bedroom was up for grabs! Since it has a good amount of floor space and lots of windows, I knew this would be a great play area for Warren. But we also wanted to make the most of it, so we decided to make it over flow guest space!
This post is in collaboration with Austin Couch Potatoes. They provided this sleeper sofa. As always, my opinions are my own! Thanks for supporting the companies that keep this blog going! This post contains affiliate links. If you purchase a product through these links I may earn a few pennies.
Guest Room and Playroom
I love how serene and calming this room is! Perfect for a busy bébé and a nice retreat for guests (whenever we can have them again!) I was thrilled to partner with Austin Couch Potatoes on this project because they are a local company and they do so many great things for our community! Always with a mission to give back, Austin Couch Potatoes gives an annual donation rate of 15% of profits, partners with The Texas Transitional Center to employ men and women exiting the prison system and for every 10 mattresses sold, one is donated to a local person or family in need. But also, they make really, really nice couches haha. And other furniture of course too.
We chose this Wallace Sleeper Sofa in Grey Ash leather. It is buttery smooth but also really stands up to our busy kiddo. Warren has been pulling up and crawling all over it and hasn’t made a scratch! I am so impressed with the quality.
We currently have this couch up against the wall to make the most of the floor space in this room but the back is completely finished and looks so good. I love knowing that in the future we can move this couch around and it will look great even in the middle of a room.
Other room details:
We absolutely love this play mat! Super cute and easy to clean. Our color is light blue/light grey/white. We finally got a Nugget couch that Warren loves to climb all over. We have the Classic in Koala color. This art piece was so affordable and looks great in person too. We got it in the wrapped canvas.
Sleeper Sofa and Playroom
This sofa is comfy to sit on while Warren is playing all around. When we went to look at the couches in-store, it was such a nice experience because everything was so spread out and not crowded. Also, the sales people were very friendly and just provided us with lots of information and never made us feel pressured in any way.
We mentioned that we were looking for a piece for a playroom guest room combo and the the sales people mentioned that their products have a lifetime warranty! So if Warren, or a pet or anyone, was to ever pull off a button or something, they could work with us to get it replaced. I just love that level service that you get from a great locally-owned company.
This Wallace Sofa is part of their Austin Grown line, which means that this couch was made right here in their Austin factory. The Austin Grown line is Fair Trade and all materials used in its production have been sourced by the owner’s family to ensure they are made fairly and transparently.

Austin Couch Potatoes carries several customizable furniture pieces which I loved. We choose the type of fabric and color. Not to mention the types of pillows and tufts. It was so nice to really make it feel like it was ours!
Here are a few other details from our playroom!
I love these shelves because we were easily able to secure them to the wall so Warren can’t pull them off. It made me feel so much more at ease because he wants to pull on everything right now! We used this material to baby proof the bottom two shelves to avoid any bonky heads. And these to cover all the outlets.
We love this wagon walker that Warren got from his Oma for Christmas. Plus, it doubles as extra toy storage. We’ve had lots of fun with Musical Llama and carrot toy. I couldn’t help myself with this Teddy Bear basket! It holds all his blocks. We love this Pantone Colors book too.
I’ve kept the shelves and walls really simple for now. After getting lots of feedback from mom friends, I know that the toys and art will start piling up so I tired not to over do it from the get go and instead leave space for things we love to fill them.
One thing I am still hoping to add is a mirror! I will keep you updated on that!
Is there anything else we should include in this space? Let me know in the comments!
