Is it just me or is 2014 already zooming by? Over the holidays, which were like a long time ago, I decided to give myself a little mental creative break. I did a little redesigning, what do you think? Like the layout? Endless scroll, how you feeling about that? I wanted to freshen things up a bit. Keep it real for you, and me too. That is one thing I felt like I had gotten away from… keeping it real.
I was finding myself making recipes that were good, sure, but they weren’t what I normally would eat. It was starting to feel a little forced. And when it’s forced you don’t really feel like doing it anymore. That’s kinda how it goes with everything, right? Besides, my life had a changed a lot. I wasn’t (and still am not) eating the way I was before. I have a lot more events going on and I eat out a lot more for work. Which is great, but completely changed the way I ate. So naturally, the blog would change too.
I decided to take a self-imposed creative break. All artists and creatives take breaks it seems. Time to just think and clear the head, which seems to lead to a lot more creativity and refreshed interests. So, I am back! Ready to get back into the swing of things. I’ve got a lot more restaurants headed your way and lots of simple recipes, because well, that’s all my schedule seems to allow. Ok, maybe a few fun and challenging ones 🙂
Expect to see more travel and music, because those are things that are taking up more and more of my time. In my little free time, I dropped the boring gym membership and finally got a on regular schedule with one of my favorite things, hot yoga. Makes me feel a little more sane in my crazy life. After one roller coaster of a year in 2013, I feel super excited for what all 2014 is going to bring. Finally feeling funky fresh and back on top of my game… well most days at least!

I agree that the year is flying by! It’s always good to take a break now and again. Agreed that forced creativity in the kitchen, on the blog, or anywhere else certainly loses its fun. Glad you are back!
