It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Too soon? Not for me! I’ve always wanted to do a gorgeous tablescape photo shoot for the holidays but could never quite get my ducks in a row. But this year, I teamed up with my friend Elle from Gracious Garlands to make the most dreamy holiday tables with her luscious greenery. We did four gorgeous looks and Elle gave me tips for decorating with real greenery! So excited for the holidays this year!
Our first look was a glitzy Thanksgiving table! We used the Tabletop Centerpiece and added some gold ribbon and gold spray painted pinecones and magnolia leaves.
We dressed up the place settings with woven place mats from Target and thrift shop gold flatware, cute cocktail napkins and vintage glass cups from Métier Cook’s Supply. Plus my absolute personal favorite, these gold pineapple tiki tumblers! They can be used as cups for cocktail hour or as table decor. Love, love, love these!
We used the same Tabletop Centerpiece for this look and just added deer horn sheds (deer shed these ever year, no animals were harmed for this photo shoot!) and added a burlap table runner with little pumpkins and gourds from Central Market to dress it up. The blue plates are hand me downs from my Granny but you can find some that are similar here. Skip regular drinking glasses and go with some copper mugs for flair!
A similar but even more luscious look was this Thanksgiving table with The Ultimate Holiday Mix Garland. This look was a the show stopper! If you want your guests to ohhh and ahhh over your table, then this is the one for you!
I think this glam holiday might have been our favorite though! I loved how the bright pink roses popped against the greenery! This table would be great for a glam Christmas or Hanukkah table and even New Year’s Eve! These disco ball tumblers are adorable and make the perfect stocking stuffer or hostess gift. We dressed up the Tri-Mix Garland with some silver ball ornaments, added some spray painted pinecones and gold votives all along the table.
We used this simple boxwood piece tied with twine around the flatware for almost every look! It was so simple and definitely helped complete the place setting.
Elle also gave some wonderful tips for decorating this season!
Q: How can we make the perfect tablescape?
A: Our centerpieces, garlands and swags can all be utilized as a great foundation to create a beautiful tablescape. The fullness and vibrant colors of our fresh greenery add such a statement that only little additions are needed to make an impressive scene!
Q: But will the greenery last until 2017?
A: While it is recommended for most of our greens to be misted with water daily, we do not suggest you do that with magnolia. This will discolor the magnolia leaves. Our greenery is very fresh and typically lasts through the season. For pieces that have dried early, try trimming them, turning their leaves over or spray painting your greens a festive color!
Q: Gracious Garlands is more than just a seasonal greenery shop. Tell us more about that.
A: By shopping with Gracious Garlands for your premier holiday decor, you are sticking to the reason for the season. We give 3% of our sales to an incredible organization called Thistle Farms. Learn more about how together we are spreading love this season here.
