Easy Tiger is a new bakery and beer garden on 6th street over by Waller Creek. On Saturday afternoon, a few friends and I decided to stop by and try it out. They have a large outside patio so we decided to bring the dogs along. It would have been great except the wind turned chilly and the sun went away so it got a little cold. The server told us they should have heaters out in the next week or so.
They have a large beer selection, and the bartenders are friendly and will let you try a few out until you find the one that suits your fancy that day.
I went with the middle beer here, it’s a Belgian BPA. Pale ale is my fav, you know. Friends went totally opposite directions with a super dark and little citrusy beers. So basically, there are so many beers on tap, everyone can find something here.
Here is a little preview of the menu.
We shared a cheese plate. That’s a pear jelly concoction in the middle. The blue cheese was my favorite and I would have preferred one more soft white cheese but I wasn’t disappointed.
There’s that yummy blue cheese!
Cheese and beer, who could ask for more?
All the cheeses are from Antonelli’s Cheese Shop. Here’s a sneak peak at the cheese plate menu.
Our other menu choices included the pretzel with homade mustard and lamb sausage with sauerkraut.
The lamb sausage was on special so we decided to try it. It looks a little dry but was actually quite flavorful.
Try it with a little sauerkraut, yum!
It’s not what you typically get when you think of sauerkraut. It’s a lot more more cabbage-y and less sour.
The pretzel could have been a little softer and little more salty however the homemade mustard was delicious and totally made up for it!
Some more friends came later and tried the pretzel with beer cheese which was creamy and hit the spot. Definitely trying that one again next time!
And if it’s cold outside, be sure and zip your pocket sized dog up in your jacket. It’ll keep you both warm!
