I finally got around to trying out Counter Cafe this past weekend. It was nice because we got there early enough to beat the rush. It’s a small place and we sat at the counter so I could see all the cooking action.
I started off with a big glass of chocolate
soy milk. Oh hey, bandana wearing Chef.
My partner in crime went with the eggs benedict. The hollandaise sauce was on the sweet side but still creamy and good. Of course, the breakfast potatoes were awesome, as they should be at a diner like this.
I had a tough time deciding between the poached eggs and crab cakes above and the steak eggs. The crab cakes were good and I liked that the poached eggs weren’t too runny.
I, of course, added Siracha to mine…
Cleaned my plate.
Here is a little peak at the menu. I’ve heard the burgers here are really good, if you’re looking for lunch. This place is only open til 4pm, FYI.
And whilst sitting at the counter, I overheard that Guy Fieri will be visting Austin’s very own Counter Cafe. You heard it first here folks! Let me know if you try this place out and what your favorite dishes are.
Catch ya on the flipside!
