Yesterday I was telling you how I’ve been fretting over getting photos just right, well that kind of goes for this post too. You see I took all these photos at the very first Blues on the Green (BOTG) this year. I wanted to capture a little of my friends and was planning to do a cute little picnic post with my new picnic basket and all the cute little snacks and drinks and dog treats, all spread across some brightly colored blanket that would make for the perfect little Pinterest picture. Welp, that didn’t happen. I mean, it still might. I still have the picnic basket and I could still figure out a way to make that photo shoot happen, but just not today.
I always tell my friends, especially the creative/perfectionist/anxiety-laden ones that done is better than perfect. Sometimes you just have to set a deadline and get that shit out the door. I mean don’t do something completely half-assed, but stuff happens, things come up and you gotta roll with it. Today was the day I had set to post my picnic post with all these photos from BOTG. I decided that today was a Done is Better than Perfect day. After editing the photos, I thought well they give a little glimpse into what it’s really like when I go to BOTG. I mean, I wish I was organized enough to make a picnic, but really I’m usually racing just to meet my friends in time after a scattered day at work. I might pick up some snacks or drinks & ice to contribute. If I am smart, I will remember to bring an extra bowl for my dog’s water, otherwise trying to get her to drink from a bottle winds up more water on me than in her mouth. So instead of no post today, which happens a lot when I get these ideas in my head, I decided to show the pictures, which I thought turned out pretty good considering and just tell you about one my mantras lately. A mantra that I need to live more often and realize nothing will ever be perfect, so I might as well just do what I can with what I have.
Besides, when you are having a stressful day, what could be than looking at pictures of the adorable and spunky Lucy? I mean THOSE ears! How can it not just make you smile 🙂
I think this may be Allison’s new profile picture haha.
When in doubt, always bring a bottle of rose in a purse that you bought for $10 from an “Artisan” outside a bar on Red River.
Luckily, my friends are cool enough to let me creep around and cute in-action photos like this one. I promise I am normal sometimes haha.
My favorite juice is carrot, ginger, lemon and spinach. I am thinking about adding beets to this combo, but this is always my go-to juice. And it also happened to be dinner that night too.
Penny Laine, the goldendoodle, might have the best name of all dogs ever. She also happens to one of Meems’ favorite dog friends.
This is Meems, or Mimi, or Mitzi, or Mitzi Mei. My crazy, tiny, loving pup who turns 10 years old this week! How did that happen? I still can’t believe she is that old. Where has the time gone?
Also, they sell meat cups at BOTG. I cannot speak to the tastiness level of this meat cup, but my friends were brave enough to try one. What are you favorite snacks and treats for Blue on the Green?
[…] it wouldn’t be summer in Austin without a mention of Blues On The Green! Almost like a mini- ACL, Â BOTG now has a VIP section, food vendors and bike parking. I still like […]
