Happy Thursday! And you know what that means, happy hour! Heck yeah, it’s almost the weekend and definitely time to start thinking (if you haven’t already) about libations. One of my recent happy hour discoveries was at TRACE at The W Hotel in Austin. First off, I am huge fan of the Living Room. Great place to chill out, perfect party vibe and also a great place to clean out your wallet. BUT their neighbors next door at TRACE have a little different story, as in happy hour everyday. EVERYDAY. Happy hour on a Saturday afternoon? Why wouldn’t you? Exactly. They have crafted cocktails like this Jalapeno and Cucumber Lemonade, which was one of my favorites of the evening. The lovely people at TRACE invited the Austin Food Bloggers Alliance members in to try some of the specials during our monthly happy hour gatherings. The W Hotel and TRACE have been on my mind this week for another reason, tonight I will be attending the Austin Monthly Bachelors Auction. Should be interesting. You can check out the nominees here. Moreover, I super stoked for this party because TRACE will be catering the whole event. A source tells me that the chefs having been calling their menu a “porkfest” and um, I couldn’t be more on board with that.
There is no denying that The W is one of the best places to people watch in Austin too. All those party characters will give you plenty to talk about while you sip cocktails.
There is a really great patio as well.
This creamy board of dairy goodness is on the happy hour menu as well. You’d be foolish not to order it.
The specials change often, but the chefs always knock it out of the park. Like this gnocchi bowl with peas, tomatoes and crispy proscuitto. Pillowy dreams in a bowl right there.
Rack of lamb? I’ll take five. Thanks! The best part about this happy hour is that you know about it now. The worst part is why did it take me so long to discover this gem of a happy hour that has been right underneath my nose for so long? Not to mention they have happy hour dishes starting at $5 and beers starting at $4. Alright, let’s do this! Who is in?
Oh, and don’t forget dessert. It’s on the happy hour menu too 🙂
