Last night’s Friendsgiving was a huge success! Almost 40 fun people headed over to share lots of food and lots of vino. Oh and did I mention there was milk punch?
I, as someone who tries to practice my photography everyday, am terrible at remembering to take pictures during events! I can take a million pictures of random food or birds in my yard or try different lighting. But when it comes to having friends over for dinner or going out, I get so caught up in the moment that I forget to snap pictures. Luckily, most of my friends are Instagram pros, so I can look forward to reminiscing from those pictures.
Last night was a classic example of my getting caught up in the moment. I made my Granny’s delicious Broccoli Cheese Casserole but completely forgot to snap a picture! Good thing she is making it tomorrow and I will post the recipe along with some pictures from her house.
One fun thing I did add to this years Friendsgiving, was a butcher paper table top. I covered our table with butcher paper and put out a cup full of Sharpies. I implored the help of my roommate to help me write out “I’m Thankful for…”, then we left the rest to our guests.
I wasn’t sure how it would go over…
But everyone loved it!! I love doing little things like this at group dinners. I think it’s great conversation starter. Just gives the night a little something else. Especially if you’re like me, and have a group of eclectic friends, it always helps everyone bond.
It’s a super easy thing you can add to your family’s Thanksgiving table! Or maybe the kids table… Whatever suits your fancy.
I am so thankful for all my friends who turned up last night. It was a great time!!

I love the butcher paper idea. The true meaning of this holiday is Thanksgiving. What a great way to put down your thoughts. I need the broccoli recipe!

Yeah, haha, the Flo Rida comment made me laugh too! There must be a broccoli and cheese casserole gene because my whole family is addicted too!
