Rise and Sunshine Chickadees and Chickadudes! Its Sunday, which happens to be my favorite day of the week. Theres nothing I love more than good Sunday brunch followed by laying around in the sun with a good book or one of my favorite magazines. I usually cook a lot on Sundays too, so no surprise why I like Sundays so much. In honor of my favorite day of the week I thought I would share with you all a few my favorite places I visited this weekend…
I started off my Saturday with this Fried Mac ‘n Cheese Ball and Hot Wings from Lucy’s Fried Chicken. It was phenomenal. Its one of their specials right now and I highly recommend it. The hot wings were great too. The chicken was perfect and the hot sauce just spicy enough to give you a kick but not so much that you couldn’t finish eating it.
After a long paddle boarding session on Town Lake, I headed over to Papi Tino’s to chill down with my favorite drink in town right now, the Devil’s Bow Tie. Don’t be fooled by it’s girlish pink color this little drink packs a punch with the jalapeno infused tequila. If you’re looking for less fire and more sweet, try the Pink Bow Tie.
After sipping on my Devil’s Bow Tie, I had to try the duck tacos which were also on special. They are served ala carte and with an awesome green sauce. The guacamole here is also quite delish. The patio at Papi Tino’s is perfect
if you’re looking to switch up the normal after-lake eating options.
Now I’m off to a lovely brunch at Elizabeth Street Cafe. I tried out these delightful french donuts last time
I love love love these spicy breakfast Singapore Noodles at Elizabeth Street cafe. I tried to do a homemade version but still haven’t gotten the spices quite right. Of course, I did a poached egg instead. I will keep you all posted on my progress.
What are your favorite brunch spots and things to do on Sundays?

El Alma is a great place for brunch if you’re looking to kill a couple hours. The service is slow, but while you wait you can lounge on the nice, shaded outdoor patios and enjoy the $3 mango-infused mimosas and the queso fundido with chorizo.

Oh I’ve never been to Jack Allen’s. I’ll be sure to research that one. Thanks for the suggestion!
