I was in Dallas last weekend for a hot minute and upon the recommendation of my friend Megan Kniepp we went to Company Cafe . Its a great little place tucked away near Katy Trail Ice House . They have a great outside area to dine in although we chose to sit inside as it was late in the evening and starting to get a little chilly. I felt right at home at Company Cafe, the decor has a modern rustic feel and the menu focuses on fresh, local fare… Wait am I in Austin? Nope! But that’s great for you homesick Austinites in the Big D! Lots of fresh and gluten free options to please any palate. And best of all, 4 entrees and 2 bottles of champagne later the four of us girls got out of there for less than $30 each with tax+tip. Wow!
Baked stuffed portabella mushroom. The goat cheese really comes through in this dish.
Venison jambalaya risotto cakes…. The red bell pepper sauce that accompanies it adds a great flavor.
Seasonal salad with chicken. Perfect hearty salad if you’re trying to stay healthy without starving yourself. Super fresh!
Braised Short Ribs. This was definitely my favorite of the dishes we ordered. Great flavor with the smokiness of the short ribs, they were oh so tender. It was perfectly balanced with greens leaving you feeling full and fresh all at once.
They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner so be sure to stop on by! And for those with a sweet tooth, I spied some decadent looking cakes while there…
