I tried out G’s Dynamite Deli this past weekend and loved it! It’s a quaint little place on the corner of S. 1st and Oltorf. I’ve driven by a few times and finally decided to stop in. The staff were friendly and could tell I was a newbie and helped me choose.
I got my lunch to-go. Everything comes with a side which is always a pleasant.
These are the awesome croutons that came with my soup.
I got the mushroom Brie soup on recommendation from the owner. I usually don’t go with soup but I took a chance and boy am I glad I did! It wasn’t too thick which was nice but still filling.
I also liked that the other sides included veggies and hummus and pita bread. Nice switch up to the regular old chips. Which they have those too but options are nice.
Yum-o.
Um, so yea, guess I liked that soup! Delish! The owner, who also actually made my sandwich, told me that they usually run out of this soup so go in early!
Then it was onto the sandwich. I got the turkey jalapeño on recommendation of the cashier. She also recommended the veggie.
Well, I guess somebody else thought the turkey jalapeño smelled good too. My little dog Mimi loves deli meat, it’s her fav. She was staring me down the entire time I ate.
So naturally I saved her some turkey at the end and she was happy. I mean, who can resist that little face!!
After the soup, I could only finish half of this sandwich. It was huge! The picture doesn’t really do it justice. It warmed up nicely the next day in my toaster oven.
Don’t forget to stop by G’s next time you’re around 78704. They have the Reuben on special right now… So I’ll be making my way over there soon to try that out.
